Overview
Requests stall because the approver is on leave or never saw the message.
- Leave, expense claims, offers and other requests land in one Approvals inbox with a count in the sidebar; you see what you can decide, and others see who the request is waiting on.
- A step past its SLA (48 hours by default) escalates to the approver’s manager, then an HR admin; the job runs hourly and moves every decision the approver held on that step.
- Delegate approvals, tasks or both for a date range, and end a delegation early: requests that were already waiting move with it.
- A workflow that has been used is never lost: it is retired with its history kept, and a request shows where it is stuck.
- 1Filter by request type
- 2Open the full request
- 3Reject (a reason is required)
- 4Approve

- Each step has a deadline: 48 hours unless the workflow sets another one for that step.
- An overdue request moves to the approver’s manager, or to an HR admin when the approver has no manager, and the new approver is notified.
- Delegations redirect approvals while someone is away, including requests that were already waiting; ending a delegation returns them.
- An approver without a login, or who has left, is skipped and the request goes to HR so it is never stuck.
